Composting Toilets

Composting toilets skip a septic installation by recycling waste on-site.  It evaporates the liquids and converts the solids to a fertilizing soil that is perfect for uptake by plants. They are great for the garden.

SUN-MAR toilets use naturally occurring bacteria to process waste into its essential minerals. Since most waste is 95% moisture, only about 3% of the starting volume is left after it is processed .

SUN-MAR composting toilets are recycling marvels.  Properly used, they are odorless and do not pollute in any way.  They can be located where ever a toilet is needed.  No sewer or septic required.

Smart Strip

TED – The Energy Detective

TED stands for The Energy Detective.  This cool device is an electricity monitor that tracks your energy usage and gives you the information in a simple, easy-to-understand format.  This monitor let's you know where you can save money.

Garden Composters

SUN-MAR garden composters make composting easy. Your garden will love the fresh compost.

SUN-MAR’s new models have a patented double drum Autoflow design. With Autoflow, material goes in the top and compost comes out the end. As the drum rotates, compost automatically moves along the outer drum.  Then is goes back through the inner drum before coming out the exit port.

These garden composters comes in two sizes - 50 and 100 gallon.

CFL lights

LED Lights

LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology is superefficient lighting. We carry some of the leading LEDs available on the market. These lights are especially great for task lighting and directed light applications.  We even have hard-to-find dimmable bulbs.

And these super efficient lights use up to 90 percent less energy than incandescent bulbs. They have standard bases and screw into most existing fixtures.  And they have the incredible life expectancy of 40,000 to 50,000 hours (compared to 1500 hours on average for incandescent bulbs).  Between the energy savings and longer life, these LEDs usually pay for themselves in under 18 months and the savings continue for years to come.

Tubular Skylights

Put sunlight into any room with solar tunnels.

You can use these tunnels to illuminate dark areas up to 600 square feet in size without using electricity. These tunnels are engineered to be extremely durable while eliminating heat and moisture.

And inside, the tunnel flush mounts with the ceiling and has an all aluminum trim ring that is powder-coated white. On-Demand Hot Water

Rinnai on-demand hot water systems can eliminate your hot water tank. These are tankless water heaters that heat the water whenever you need it - when you need it.  You can take a shower, wash the dishes and do laundry all at the same time!  You never run out of hot water.

These units are designed to be highly efficient. They turn off whenever the hot water is turned off.  The typical savings over oil and hot water tank systems is 40%.

Indoor and outdoor models are available and they can be sized to meet your particular hot water needs.

Window Inserts

In Maine, our heating bills are a big part of our budget and this technology saves you money by tripling the R value of single pane windows.

These mount on the inside of your windows.  These window panels have two separate surfaces (front and back) which trap a 7/16" pocket of air between them. They also create a second air pocket between the panel and your existing window.  In some cases, people have saved over 1/2 their heating bill by installing this product.
